Meet the team:
Alex Watson

Alex Watson is an example of how employees can develop at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies: starting as an intern in January 2021, then working part-time throughout the remainder of his degree, the 23-year-old now works for SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies as a graduate mechanical engineer. By taking on various engineering tasks such as performing calculations or producing drawings, hehelps to ensure that all the parts ultimately add up to one big picture.

What does he like best about working at the Scottish company? “That I don’t just think about how the product might work in theory, but I also have the opportunity to see it in practice. For example, I have taken part in some trials of our Anchoring Remote Operating Vehicle AROV live on site. This experience gave me new insights on the product which I can take into account in further design.”

For his personal future, he hopes to further develop his engineering skills. And for the future of SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies? “That the hard work from all of us pays off and that we achieve our goals – to contribute to the accelerating the energy transition with our sophisticated anchoring solutions.”

In his free time, the ski instructor spends a lot of time outdoors. Besides skiing (preferably in the Swiss mountains) he plays hockey, rides his bike or boulders.

Happy to have you at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies, Alex!
