Meet the team: Nick Cresswell

Nick Cresswell, Engineering Manager at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies, is one of the technical brains behind the Swift Anchor technology, having spent the past eight years developing anchors and AROVs.

Nick Cresswell

Nick Cresswell, Engineering Manager at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies, is one of the technical brains behind the Swift Anchor technology, having spent the past eight years developing anchors and AROVs. With a background in anchor and mooring engineering and experienced in station keeping system design and installation, he leads on concept, research, and operations engineering.

After graduating in Civil Engineering from Durham University, Nick completed a PhD in the field of tidal stream hydrodynamics and power generation (“The Generation Potential of Diffuser Augmented Tidal Stream Turbines”). In total, his experience includes more than thirteen years of research, development, and implementation in the offshore renewable energy industry.

In addition, Nick shares his expertise as a member of the British Standards Committee PEL/114 for marine renewables and sits on the mooring technical committee for IEC 62600-10.

In his free time, Nick is very active in the great outdoors. He enjoys climbing, hiking in the mountains, cycling, sailing, and running.
