Catrin Wickert
Happy International Women’s Day!
To mark International Women’s Day today, we would like to introduce you to one of our strong women from our own ranks: Catrin Wickert
Catrin works as Head of Marketing & Communications at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies. Every day, the 30-year-old ensures that SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies is at the forefront of everyone’s minds – whether that be internally or externally, online or offline, in Spay, Dörth and Edinburgh or around the world. She is also currently training to become a certified sustainability manager and helps out wherever support is needed.
During her languages and media studies at the Mannheim University and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Catrin worked for several years in the editorial departments of various news and magazine formats for the German television station ZDF. She also gained experience at a newspaper, radio and a PR agency before joining SCHOTTEL in 2018 and then SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies in early 2023.
What prompted her to take this step? “I’m keen to help shape something literally groundbreaking within the SCHOTTEL Group and am grateful for being supported to have the freedom to explore and implement new things. In an industry that is still male-dominated, it is all the more important that women are seen and heard – and get the opportunity to blaze the trail for other young women.”
In her free time, she spends time with her husband, family and friends, plays the piano, watches 1. FSV Mainz 05 matches or plans the next trips.
