Vincent twomey
Vincent Twomey works as Senior Geotechnical Engineer at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies. A geologist with a passion for rock, Vince has over a decade of experience across a diverse range of projects and field areas. As such, Vince holds a PhD in Structural Geology and specialises in field work, lab work and, technical report writing across a wide range of geological and geotechnical studies, helping to develop efficient and effective solutions/models for a variety of ground conditions.
At SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies, the 35-year-old Irishman’s responsibilities include geotechnical assessment to size anchors for rock and soft substrates and investigating the geotechnical aspects of the Swift Anchors’ portfolio as well as the geological site assessment. He also works closely with PhD research students from the University of Dundee, Scotland.

What Vincent likes most about being part of the SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies team? “Working at SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies allows me to study and investigate a diverse range of geologically and geotechnically complex offshore areas across the globe. I also enjoy investigating contemporary and innovative techniques in modelling geotechnical parameters influencing rock anchors across a range of seabed morphologies.”
In his spare time, he spends his time outdoors particularly to the hills to get a good hike in when he can. Part of that often includes some degree of camping. He also enjoys keeping active and tend to do a lot of biking and running.
